A curious phenomenon is threatening the balance of the showbiz world. Celebs wed in lavishing ceremonies that drive the paparazzi mad, only to divorce shortly after.
Marriages that last only a couple of days serve only one purpose. They let ink loose and invite people to speculate on the differences that pushed the former lovebirds apart. Make your way towards the end of the list where a genuine surprise awaits.
1. Jennifer Lopez and Cris Judd – 7 months
Jennifer Lopez made headlines when she chose backup dancer Cris Judd as her husband following an engagement that lasted only one month.
The two met while filming the music video for “Love Don’t Cost A Thing” back in 2001. Prehistory of music, right? Jenny was not merciful with the gas pedal, as she got married in late September and divorced just seven months later.
Are you curious about what went wrong with this couple? Let’s just say that love between gods and mortals never led to something peaceful and durable. Judd was a commoner, and he struggled in vain to keep up with the Latino diva.
“You know it’s very tough. Your privacy is breached. You’re no longer a normal person,” Judd described his high-profile marriage. “Our wedding was a circus. I think several people got arrested trying to sneak in. We actually rented the airspace,” he added.
It was Jenny second divorce, a piece of cake compared to the Mark Anthony fiasco of 2014.

2. Charlie Sheen and Donna Peele – 5 months
Charlie Sheen couldn’t miss our list of short-lived weddings.
Charlie met 20-year-old model Donna Peele while filming a cigarette commercial in New York. The tiger-blooded Adonis needed only six weeks to make up his mind, and the pair exchanged vows on September 3, 1995.
“She’s an angel sent from heaven to take me through the rest of my journey.” That is how Sheen jubilated in the media while describing his perfect partner.
Five months together proved enough and the actor from “Wall Street” completely changed his metaphors. “You buy a car, it breaks down, what are you gonna do?”
As it always happens, the divorce made it on the front pages and stayed there for weeks. Once the gold rush for gossip on what went wrong was over, Donna Peele also vanished from the spotlights.
As for Charlie Sheen, although he added two more failed marriages to his resume, we have to give him credit for trying at least. Denise Richards (2002 – 2006) and Brooke Mueller (2008 – 2011) confirmed that Good Time Charlie had a hard time settling between the same sheets.

3. Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Esposito – 4 months
Back in 2006, Bradley Cooper married fellow actress Jennifer Esposito, a union that would sadly last for only four months.
“Within days, my relationship hit an all-time low, and within a week, it was over.” The “Blue Bloods” star was the one to file for divorce, claiming the marriage ended a slippery slope that meant misery for the two.
For young and restless Bradley Cooper the blunder probably did not mean much back then. “It was just something that happened. The good thing is we both realized it. Sometimes you just realize it.” The “Silver Linings Playbook” actor confessed at Howard Stern’s radio show giving millions of women renewed reason to hope.
Others claim the actor from “The Hangover” pledged to avoid marriage at all cost. Who can say no to Irina Shayk, right? The two said “yes” in 2015 and skillfully navigated the ups and downs to avoid this list.
The next short celeb marriage left some things tangled and unclear. Check it out!
4. Janet Jackson and James DeBarge – 4 months
Four months seems to be the critical age for marriage, as Janet Jackson and her childhood friend James DeBarge also failed to go past it.
Janet looks fresh and innocent in pictures that go back all the way to 1984. Although lovely, the couple had to call it quits right at the beginning of the following year.
Most failed marriages are dead and buried, but that between Janet Jackson and James DeBarge recently resurrected with a bombshell. Frustrated to see Janet pregnant and expecting her child, DeBarge claimed he secretly fathered a child with Damita Jo.
Bad luck seems to be the name of the game for the younger sister of the late Michael Jackson. 51-year-old Janet recently made public her third divorce, this time from Wissam Al Mana, and it seems she will adopt the uncomfortable position of being a single mother.
The good news is that despite the personal turmoil, Jackson would resume her Unbreakable World Tour in September.
Prepare the confetti for the amazingly short wedding up next!
5. Nicolas Cage and Lisa Marie Presley – 3 months
Nicolas Cage and Lisa Marie Presley enjoyed three months of marriage, a union worthy of the King’s heartbreak rock ballads.
The only daughter of Elvis Presley met the “Ghost Rider” star at a birthday party of Johnny Ramone back in 2000. We don’t know what happened between the two but their on and off relationship climaxed with a secret Hawaii ceremony.
Nicolas and Lisa Marie avoided the media in vain. Newspaper editors rubbed their hands against each other when they heard news of Cage filling for divorce, citing cliché irreconcilable differences.
“I’m sad about this, but we shouldn’t have been married in the first place.” That was Presley’s brief statement on her third divorce.
We hate to break it to you, but Lisa Marie Presley also tied the knot with Michael Jackson before attempting it with Cage. Not even her fourth union to Michael Lockwood would prove lucky.
The next celeb tried in vain to explain his wedding was a joke. The poor bastard still ended up on our list!
6. Colin Farrell and Amelia Warner – 3 months
Colin Farrell and Amelia Warner claim their cozy spot on the list with one of the shortest and most ridiculous weddings ever seen in Hollywood.
English B-list actress Amelia Warner crossed paths with heartthrob Colin Farrell at the premiere of “Quills” back in 2000. Both fell victim to Cupidon’s mindless arrow shooting, and the wedding came after an incredibly short period of dating.
“We had a ceremony on a beach in Tahiti that was by no means legal, and we knew it wasn’t… It was just a thing we did on holiday. We went shark feeding and then we did that. We booked them both on the activities desk at the hotel.”
Is this a way for the star of “Alexander” to make his past bloopers seem innocent? It doesn’t matter. Colin Farrell looks poised to remain a bachelor despite the many gorgeous women that stood by his side on the red carpet.
Farrell will always have something to remind him of his three months fake marriage with Amelia Warner. The 41-year-old actor tries in vain to hide a tattoo that says “Millie,” an explicit reference to “Slow Moving Millie,” the stage name of Amelia.
The next couple never heard of “till death do us part.”
7. Nicky Hilton and Todd Meister – 85 days
Nicky Hilton and Todd Meister hoped to be the couple of the year in 2004, but their Vegas quickie proved to be a disaster.
Nicky was only 20 years old when she said “yes” for the first time, and she probably did it because of peer pressure. You see, when the gals you hang out most of the time are Tara Reid, Nicole Richie, Bijou Phillips, or Lindsay Lohan, you should expect nothing good to come out of it. Oh, and let’s not forget the biggest negative influence in Nicole’s life – her sister, Paris Hilton.
It was certainly an awkward choice for the young socialite. 13 years her senior and with a shaky claim to the business world, Todd Meister naturally disappeared from the celeb landscape once the marriage ended.
11 years later, Nicky Hilton finally gave in to her blue-blood ancestry and married someone from the same world – James Rothschild. We’ll let you do the math on the billions they amassed!

8. Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries – 72 days
Before Kanye West came to the picture, Kim Kardashian was already making headlines with her incredible short marriage to Kris Humphries.
Kim began dating the NBA star in October 2010 and tied the knot in May of the following year. What made her act so swiftly? Kim admitted she panicked after turning 30, and realizing her girlfriends were all getting married and having children.
The lavishing Montecito left little clues that the union would last only 72 days. Of course, people could not stop talking about the incredible height difference between the two. At 2.08 m, Kris Humphries fueled the first rumors that the Kardashian bombshell was, in fact, a hobbit.
Speaking of fleeting romance, women were not the only short-lived flings in Humphries life. He changed his NBA team more often than socks.

9. Pamela Anderson and Rick Salomon – 60 days
Pamela Anderson and Rick Salomon are claimants to a very odd record, one that would make few couples jealous.
The two went through not only one, but two short-lived marriages, making fans wonder if they have been mocked all along. Pamela needed no introduction, and Rick Salomon also had a fascinating claim to fame – professional poker player than won sums in the realms of millions.
First came the Las Vegas union of 2007, a traditional two-month matrimony that made the whole world look with envy at the former playmate and her awkward husband. Even more shocking was their second attempt of January 2014, which ended on claims of fraud.
Forget about divorces that make people bitter. Anderson and Salomon went on with their showbiz charades as if nothing happened.
As we go further down the list, marriages last fewer days. Check out the next unlucky couple!
10. Chad Johnson and Evelyn Lozada – 41 days
Chad Johnson and Evelyn Lozada formed a turbulent pair that stood each other only a few weeks.
Everyone was shocked when the gorgeous TV star Evelyn Lozada call it quits on the grounds of the marriage being “irretrievably broken.” The consternation doubled in size when she appeared with a good-sized laceration on her forehead.
Lozada did not let the situation in the air and addressed the incident immediately after filing for divorce. She expressed her hopes that Chad Johnson would be able to overcome his inner demons and seek tranquility.
Lozada also encouraged other women to break their silence and end marriages that entered a similar turn of events. As for Johnson, the NFL player received a year of probation after admitting he head-butted his wife.
The younger they are when they marry, the less likely it is for them to back down. Check out the next story!
11. Drew Barrymore and Jeremy Thomas – 39 days
Drew Barrymore is a heavyweight champion when it comes to short marriages ending fast.
“Usually people live together first and then get married. I guess we’re doing it the old-fashioned way. Kind of.” The 1990s It Girl forgot that divorce was not long ago considered a sin.
Drew Barrymore was only 19 when she tied the knot with former British bartender Jeremy Thomas. Let’s give the man some credit, shall we? He ended up having his own bar in LA when he laid eyes on this Hollywood sweetheart.
Drew’s first marriage took place in March 1994 and ended with a divorce less than two months later. Few people raised eyebrows on the fragility of that couple, as they had a history of only six weeks of dating before grabbing hands in front of the altar.
She repeated the pattern in 2001 with Canadian stand-up comedian Tom Green. With Will Kopelman, Barrymore finally pulled a duration considered decent by Hollywood standards – 4 years.
The next couple had a solid reason to seek a divorce. You must find out what happened!
12. Ali Landry and Mario Lopez – 18 days
Ali Landry and Mario Lopez could have blessed our eyes with gorgeous children if it wasn’t for the incident that made their marriage last less than three weeks.
After six years of going on dates, Mario Lopez and Ali Landry tied the knot in a Catholic ceremony that promised to go by the textbook. The woman that won Miss USA in 1996 and A.C. Slater from “Saved by the Bell” formed what many believed to be the perfect couple.
Unfortunate, the marriage was annulled just two weeks, and the reason will shock you. Bachelor parties are notorious for acting as the last temptation, and it seems that Mario could not hold it together. Photos of him and another woman reached Ali only days after they exchanged vows.
“I got inebriated and a little too friendly with a young lady.” That was Mario’s awkward way of saying he cheated. Well played hormones, well played!
Meet the next couple and their bizarrely short marriage.
13. Sinead O’Connor and Barry Herridge – 16 days
If you came looking for emotional instability than Sinead O’Connor is the person for you.
The Irish singer might be as talented as it can get, but her personal life is a long string of failed relationships, violent feuds, and many threats to take her own life. By far the most outrageous was her brief marriage to drug-counsellor Barry Herridge.
The alleged cause of their separation was that Sinead O’Connor was so thrilled by her gown and the whole ceremony she dragged poor Barry into a midnight hunt for marijuana. The couple met online four months before, as desperate and heartbroken Sinead took on the Internet her plea for a potential partner.
It was the fourth and probably last marriage for the phenomenal artist known for “Nothing Compares 2U.”
As we go further down the list, the honeymoon gets shorter and more bitter.
14. Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds – 14 days
Eddie Murphy fooled us all with his brief marriage to film producer Tracey Edmonds.
The two swore everlasting love in a private sunset ceremony on an island off Bora Bora. Just days later, they changed their mind and released a statement claiming that they will not go forward with a legal ceremony.
Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds apparently acted too nervous in the wake of their big day and witnesses even talk about the actor yelling at his lover in front of everyone. The odd, intimate union took place in January 2008 and confirmed once more that Eddie Murphy is as unfortunate in matters of love as he is successful in the box office.
Forget about the honeymoon! The next couple had only one week of marriage at hand.
15. Carmen Electra and Dennis Rodman – 6 days
Carmen Electra and Dennis Rodman probably are in ruin to know they failed to reach the history books as the couple with the fastest marriage to end in divorce.
1998 was the glorious year when Carmen Electra married NBA star Dennis Rodman at Little Chapel of the Flowers in Las Vegas. Only six days later, the former player of Chicago Bulls and San Antonio Spurs filed for divorce claiming he had experienced a brief episode of insanity when he vowed Electra eternal love.
As it often happens, the couple continued dating after their highly scrutinized separation. Carmen Electra admitted many years after that she was a sucker for bad boys and Rodman was the worst of them.
As a side note, Dennis Rodman is the world’s only hope of avoiding a showdown between North Korea and the United States, as the basketball player inexplicably became friends with Kim Jong-un.
Are you anxious to see who got the shortest marriage ever? One more piece to complete the awkward puzzle of rash decisions and speedy annulments.
16. Britney Spears and Jason Alexander – 55 hours
2004 was a busy year for Britney Spears as the diva married not once, but twice in just a couple of months.
Britney committed the biggest mistake a star of her caliber can make – rebound on a childhood crush. The Princess of Pop had an episode of inexplicable weakness and married friend Jason Alexander at The Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas.
The marriage had to be annulled only 55 hours later, following a petition that stated Ms. Spears “lacked understanding of her actions.”
Poor Alexander was probably devastated to become a one-night crying shoulder for a diva worshipped by million. He later admitted to still having feelings for Britney.
Britney continued in style, and only months after meeting dancer Kevin Federline she walked towards the altar without regrets. “Hit me, baby, one more time,” she said to the Elvis on duty that night. Should we mention that this marriage also fell to pieces?
Your patience will now be rewarded. Click next for the shortest marriage that ever happened in the celeb world!
17. Zsa Zsa Gabor and Felipe de Alba – 24 hours
Zsa Zsa Gabor and Felipe de Alba were married for only a day, setting the bar too low even by today’s standards.
The reason for such an anomaly is simple and works to explain why the two actors did not take the time to enjoy their honeymoon. Gabor was one of the most desired women of her time and pretenders were always lining up offering rings wherever she went.
The Miss Hungary 1936 married Felipe de Alba in 1983 at a time when she was still technically tied with her former husband, Michael O’Hara. When the paperwork was finally settled, the bored socialite changed her mind and looked for love somewhere else.
You will be saddened to know the actress who passed away last year at the age of 99 counted nine marriage throughout her life, finishing level with her arch rival Elizabeth Taylor.
